This site is not about making women into empty-headed ornaments. It is not about judging women in difficult family situations. This site is not advocating that women take beatings from abusive husbands. It is not declaring that there are not difficult situations where staying at home is impossible. It is definitely not saying that the Church is perfect or has always done the best job it can to provide for widows and orphans. We fully recognize our own shortcomings, failings, and limitations, and we truly hope to impart grace and encouragement to those who need it most. When we come across as blinded or lopsided, we ask you to extend understanding (and consider offering your own perspectives, since we do wish to learn from others).
We would like to recommend that you thoughtfully and carefully consider the articles contained on this site before making assumptions about our beliefs on single moms, abandoned wives, and others in difficult or devastated circumstances. We would also invite you to remember that one website is not the entire Church. We are just small members of a vast Body, trying to do the work God has set before us where we are. It is not possible to address every issue affected by feminism, so there is going to be much we will miss and some topics we hope others will cover.
Even if you are not a Christian and do not see the value of religious belief, we believe the works presented here (from many different viewpoints and backgrounds) will show the logic and the beauty of a created order which contains differing, complementary roles for men and women--roles which each have their own sphere of authority and responsibility. We are not here to back up the "good old boy" view of irresponsible, unprotective manhood any more than we are here to turn women into mindless robots. The Truth about real manhood and womanhood is complex and beautiful--and judging this "book" by its cover will not foster clear thinking or cogent questioning. We respect the right of others to hold differing views, but hostility is futile and cannot lead to hepful communication.
