    Dear America

As much as your Christians go on about godless Britain and even more godless Europe, you’re not that far behind us – especially on the Left Coast and the north-east.

But what we do know, is how to evangelise people who have *no* background in Christian things, and where we have to function as if we were, in effect, in a foreign mission field. You’re about to find this out for yourselves, if you haven’t already 🙂

And yes, gays & lesbians can be witnessed to, but it takes time, effort, and especially Grace:

    Dear America,

Please stop patronising us – we are (sadly) far ahead of you in the godlessness stakes, and as “Hobbit” says above, are now more adept at witnessing in what is an alien and un-christian culture. I would love to see how you would cope,

Britain’s worse off than we are, lol, as the two posters pointed out. Someone definitely needs to write them up about this; it always amazes me when someone brags about their godlessness and ultra-liberalism.

This DVD is indeed a vital tool.

Dear Hobbit: that’s the point. This letter by Kelly was saying, “Here we are, this situation’s approaching you quickly too.”

If I could hit the reset button on this discussion:

    * I’m not proud of Britain’s godlessness, but I think we all agree that America is fast catching up. More in some parts of the States than others. What this does mean, is that people who aren’t Christians at least know that they aren’t, and one barrier to the preaching of the Gospel which has been all too evident in the states is not so here. We don’t have the burden of ‘cultural Christianity’ to get in the way.

    * As for Squarecrisp’s comment, supporting mine, that one thing we /do/ have in Britain is an understanding of how to witness and minister in that culture. It is a skill that American Christians will have to learn – sooner rather than later.

I’m not sure what you mean by “cultural Christianity”. I think it’s good, for ex, that even while our atheist count has gone up, many films are still more restrained and conservative in this country than in others (though Britain’s not that far in the opposite direction).
