Encouragement for moms of littles…

Posted By on July 15, 2011

Kim Coghlan of Life in a Shoe has posted some wonderful articles that I wanted to pass along:

  • Life with Littles  – “I’ve often been asked how I got through each day back when we had lots of little ones and no older children to help out.  I have written about those bygone years before, but it’s been a long time and there’s no harm in revisiting old subjects is there?”
  • For Tired Young Mothers of Many  – “Yes, your days are long and busy, and you never seem to get enough sleep.  You don’t think you spend enough one-on-one time with your children, and you feel guilty or stressed or worried.  I’m not discounting that.  This a busy season in life, and a hard one.”

I love how these articles emphasize that yes, attitude does have a lot to do with it, but on the other hand… there is also the simple fact that it IS hard, and that you feel like crying, and are exhausted and that it get’s better. I have read two articles that say that in the last few weeks and in the middle of training up a very stuborn three and a half year old and a 17 month old that has had in a row colic, lactose intolerance and horrible teething pains… I want to know that it DOES get better. That feeling stressed and tired and everything is normal and that if I am not able to grow an organic garden or keep the laundry ironed, it is a normal part of this season and when we are a bit further along the line I will reap the rewards from this season of chaos.
