Book Giveaway! Start Your Family by Steve & Candice Watters
Posted By Jennie Chancey on May 5, 2010
The folks at Moody have been kind enough to provide a copy for us to give away to a reader. This is a book I highly recommend and am happy to spread around. You can read my full review HERE.
Update May 10: Congrats to Titus245mama, the winner of the drawing!

As a newlywed (one year in June), the subject of this book is highly relevant to where I’m at. Although we both desire to start our family, several factors have influenced our decision to wait another year. Even just reading the review I’ve been challenged! Can’t wait to read the entire book.
I would love to read this book. More couples should be encouraged to start their families, instead of postponing them.

Thank you. This is book I needed so many years ago, but will gladly read and share with my daughters and my friends.

I can remember when my husband and I thought the way the Watterses did. Unfortunately, this meant we got a later start to our family than I wish we had now. I want a lot more children than my body will likely allow at this point. Ah, well…. I am thankful for the little blessings the Lord has given us to this point and pray for many more. The Lord is sovereign, indeed!

We’re hoping to “start *our* family” very soon (as soon as God blesses us with a child), so this would be a great resource!
I wrote a quick note on Facebook and linked to the review. This is a REALLY important issue, and I’m glad to have another recommendation for a good book on the topic!!

Thanks! We have been hoping to add this to our “prospective suitor required reading list” Ahhh, the stages of life. Many children are such a blessing- nothing like brides and toddlers in the same house.

I posted the link for this book on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/RosefromBrier?ref=profile
I asked “Is it just an opinion? My opinion is that it’s much more than likes and dislikes. The Bible says that children are a blessing and that “the fruit of the womb” is a reward. I could go on about adoption, too. Anyway, it’s not just what we say, it’s what we do…so are we practicing what we preach?”
Not all of my friends want to have children and adopt like I do. Thanks for the encouragement!
I can’t wait to read this book, I needed something like this 15 years ago.
After planning on letting God determine our family size we changed our mind and controlled it ourselves. I have regretted it ever since and now I do not have many years left for God to add blessings to our family.

Oops, I posted my comment on the wrong section. I own a copy of this book and I absolutely love it. I found it to be gentle and encouraging on the important issue of having children. I love the vision of godly parenthood that is painted throughout this book. I would love to win a copy of this book for my sister-in-law, who will be getting married in the next few weeks. I twittered about this giveaway here: http://twitter.com/christinemary/status/13437289551 Start Your Family is my favorite resource to recommend to every married couple!

I’m sure their book will be amazing…I read Get Married last summer and it was full of great insights into dispelling fears and myths about marriage, and encouraging young women just to trust in the Lord in these matters.
This looks like a great book!
