Hobby Lobby Wins a Stay against Birth Control Mandate

On June 27, a federal appeals court in Denver let Hobby Lobby challenge the mandate on religious grounds, and said there was a good chance the company would prevail.

It said Hobby Lobby had “drawn a line at providing coverage for drugs or devices they consider to induce abortions, and it is not for us to question whether the line is reasonable.”

    Kudos to Hobby Lobby for taking a stand against the birth control mandate. The biggest “huh?” for me about this article was the government’s statement that contraception coverage promotes gender equality. It is physically impossible for a man to bear a child. Even if a man “chose” to become pregnant, he would not be able to. Maybe I’m thinking of this the wrong way, but what is there to equalize…?
