After years of working for Planned Parenthood in Bryan, Texas, Abby experienced a dramatic change of heart regarding the morality of abortion and her participation in the ongoing tragedy of it.
She had never seen an abortion through ultrasound technology. But one day, she did, and the sight of a 13-week-old baby trying to move away from a probe shocked her.
Shaken by the experience, Abby abruptly resigned from her position as Director of the Planned Parenthood clinic.
“I just thought, ‘What am I doing?’” she said. “And then I thought, ‘Never again.’

I’ve seen coverage of this story in Christian circles. I find it inspiring that a Planned Parenthood worker would come to question what is going on in there. Yet another piece of proof that God changes hearts!
I don’t know if you read Touchstone magazine, but there was an interesting article in there in Jan/Feb 2011 about Margaret Sanger and Planned Parenthood. I think when one looks at that history, it’s obvious that PP is far from the benign helper of women that they claim to be in the popular press.
I read Abby’s autobiography and was profoundly moved by her vulnerability and wisdom. I highly, HIGHLY recommend reading it–buy it, and then give it to someone you know! Her insights could really turn tides in the fight for the protection of the unborn.
