Home Educating in Biblical Truth

Posted By on February 18, 2011

Lee Ann Garfias has written an excellent review of a new Bible curriculum and addresses the importance of not censoring Scripture for our children but giving them the whole counsel of God:

Sin, grace, salvation, and the cross are not “adult concepts” but are rather part of the gospel message preached to all.

But Jesus said, Permit little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

– Matthew 19:14

How can children be part of the kingdom of heaven if they cannot be taught of sin and grace, nor accept salvation? This requires frank discussion of our sin and God’s holiness, of our need and His grace.

  1. Thank you so much, Jennie, for posting my little paper on teaching the Bible to our children. It is the prayer of my husband and I that just one mother will read it and re-think how and why she teaches this most important subject.
